What's Wrong With People?!?!

With all the bad weather latley, you'd think that people would be a bit more patient waiting for deliveries, no? Our delivery driver started out earlier than usual the past few days because of the storms, and when there is a blizzard out, you have to expect delays. I had dozens of people calling me asking if we were still doing deliveries or if we had to cancel because of the weather, and most people were quite patient when I explained that we were delayed due to weather, but that he would be there eventually. But one woman was so angry that it was 2:25 and the driver was usually there by 2:00! I mean, really! When you make 76 stops in one day, and its snowing like crazy, residential streets have yet to be hit by the plows and customers have not shoveled their driveways or sidewalks, what do you expect? I enjoyed asking this woman if she wanted to cme into the office to pick up her order so she wouldn't have to waite the 2 or 3 hours till the driver arrived, and you can guess her answer: 'The roads are terrable! I can't go out in this weather!'. I enjoyed even more telling her that the very roads she refuses to travel are the same roads our driver is traversing to bring our customers their orders. I told her that if she didn't want to waite, she could skip the weeks service and I could call the driver and let him know there is one less stop to try and make ( mind you, I was being VERY polite during the entire conversation, but I really wanted to be nasty and match my tone of voice to her less than friendly one! ). Needless to say she decided to waite for the driver to come.
Sheesh.

Classic # 1.

Tonight I saw my first classic movie: Irving Berlin's White Christmas. The movie starred Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney ( George's Aunt I believe ) and Vera-Ellen ( a Rockette).
I thought it was a pretty good movie, but I think that for a movie that has been out for decades, some one would have noticed some of the inconsistancies and fixed them. In one scene, Vera-Ellens character is pouring coffee for herself and her sister, then she places the coffee pot back on the warmer. The camera cuts to a new angle of Vera-Ellen and all of a sudden she is holding the coffee pot again, filling her mug ( again ).
The dance numbers were frequent ( as were the songs ), and I was pretty surprised at just how fast these ladies could move!
All in all, I enjoyed the show!

The Moves.

Its started out as a lazy Sunday here at home; some laundry, a few phone calls, the usual week-end deliberation about what to do today. We finally decided to go out for a buffet brunch and then to brouse for some good used books. Brunch was fabulous, Mom, Frank and I all left feeling satisfied and enjoyed the leisurley walk down the street to look for some books. After a few min of fliping through some titles, I look around for my Mom and what should I see, but her being hit on by some guy! I watched him flirt with her for a few min before I walked up to them ( I had no idea if he was bothering her or if she was enjoying the conversation ), and I was totally ignored!! Anyway, by the time she found Frank and I again, he had asked her for her number a few times, finally gave up when she turned him down, and gave her his name and number! How cute is that?!?
Way to go Mom!
